Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is yet to make a decision on starting Luis Suarez in their Capital One Cup clash against the Premier League champions Manchester United.
The manager said that the Uruguayan international is on the tip of his toes to get back onto the pitch after he finished serving a 10-match ban imposed on him for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic in April during Liverpool’s 2-2 draw against the Blues.
Rodgers said, “He’ll travel and we’ll reflect over the next 24 hours whether he starts.”
“It has been a really difficult time for him not playing games.”
“How he has prepared himself over the last number of weeks has been fantastic. Everyone knows the depth of his quality and his attitude.”
“Once he gets back on the field again he will show what he has shown since he’s been here,” added the Liverpool manager.
Suarez was earlier linked with a move to Arsenal which didn’t materialize. He joined “The Reds” in January 2011 from Eredivisie champions Ajax and has scored 51 goals in 96 appearances ever since.
