Brighton & Hove Albion face off with Arsenal in a Premier League game at the Amex Stadium this Saturday.
Brighton are currently in 10th place in the Premier League table, although their recent form has been shaky to say the least. Arsenal, meanwhile, are back up to second place and will still harbour hopes of catching Liverpool to claim their first Premier League title for over a decade.
So can Brighton put a dent in the title hopes of the Gunners this weekend, or will it be business as usual for Arsenal?
Brighton & Hove Albion vs Arsenal Head-to-Head and Key Numbers
- Arsenal's recent record against Brighton is slightly patchy, as they have only won three of their last six games against the Seagulls. However, their record at the Amex is excellent, as they haven't lost there since June 2020.
- Although they are in a mid-table spot right now, Brighton's recent form has been alarmingly poor. They have not won a game since November 23, and have collected just five points from a possible 21 since.
- Arsenal, meanwhile, have not lost since November 2, putting them on a run of nine matches unbeaten. Mikel Arteta's side have also won their last three games in a row, scoring nine goals while only conceding two in return.
- With just 17 goals conceded this season, Arsenal currently have the joint-tightest defence in the Premier League. Keeper David Raya has also kept seven clean sheets, the second-most in the campaign to date.
- While Brighton's top scorer Danny Welbeck has not found the net since October 26, that hasn't really affected Brighton too badly. Thirteen different players have scored in the league for the Seagulls this season, giving them a total of 29 goals.
Brighton & Hove Albion vs Arsenal Prediction
While Brighton have proven themselves well capable of taking points off the Premier League's bigger sides, it doesn't feel like they're coming up against Arsenal at the right time to do so here.
Fabian Hurzeler's side are on a lengthy winless run, their confidence feels quite low right now, and they've also found it hard to keep goals out.
Arsenal, on the other hand, seem to have recaptured their best form recently despite the loss of Bukayo Saka, and showed a lot of grit to defeat Brentford.
It won't be easy for Mikel Arteta's side, but expect them to claim all three points here.
Prediction: Brighton & Hove Albion 1-2 Arsenal
