The French full back is the second most selected defender in the game. Now a World Cup winner, Pavard was arguably one of the players of the tournament.

The young defender played in the center of defense for his club last season, in contrast to his Right Back position for France.
Stuttgart had a goalscoring problem last season which led them to finish just outside of the European spots. Their defending however was resolute with only 36 goals conceded which was second best behind only Bayern (28).
The club's defensive rigidity is expected to continue into this season. Pavard with all of his ability will grab a lot of extra points for duels won (2 per 5 won) to go along with the clean sheets that his team will accumulate.
