It’s been a busy transfer season for the Blues. Even after Chelsea signing the likes of Eden Hazard, Marko Marin and their latest recruit of Brazilian international Oscar, it seems there is still a lot left for Chelsea in the ongoing transfer window.
Having been linked to the likes of Edison Cavani, Hulk and Cesar Azpilicueta, Chelsea are willing to build a strong team and continue with their process of re-building. With all 3 of the mentioned players busy in Olympic duty it looks like a very busy summer for the Chelsea scouts. Here let’s take a look at the impact these players can create for Chelsea and where they will fit in.
Edison Cavani
The Uruguayan international, who had an impressive last season with Italian club Napoli managing to find the back of the net 33 times, will be a player to look out for in the ongoing Olympics. His impressive record speaks for itself and there is no doubt why the talented center forward is a hot property in the transfer window. One such club tracking the versatile forward is Chelsea. It makes complete sense signing a player of his calibre seeing the shortage of options Chelsea have in the attacking front. With the likes of Lukaku and Piazon still not fully developed to fit in the Premier League and an unstable future of Daniel Sturridge, Chelsea can really make do with the signing of Cavani. Having lost Drogba in the summer to Chinese club Shanghai, Cavani seems to be an ideal replacement for the Ivory Coast center forward. With as many as 7 trophies to play for in the coming season, Cavani can make a good career move if he decides to shift to the West London club. Although the transfer fee can turn out to be a stumbling block but with Cavani willing a move to the West London club things can end in a good note.
Hulk
The Brazilian international, who has nothing more to achieve in Portugal, will definitely be looking to seek a move to face a new challenge with a new club. The €100m man can dismantle any defense with a mixture of power and technique. His left foot is a real cannon. His ability to play as striker and a winger is an added bonus. All these qualities have impressed Chelsea and that is why he has been a part of a big summer transfer saga involving Porto and Chelsea. With Chelsea still in the market to find a winger/striker, Hulk is another talent who can fit the bill. Although a deal is yet to take place with a rumored €40m bid rejected by Porto it won’t be long before we come to a conclusion.
Cesar Azpilicueta-
With Chelsea desperately seeking a Right Back after Jose Bosingwa’s departure and the Maicon deal failing to go through, Chelsea have now turned their attention to young 22 year old Spanish fullback Cesar Azpilicueta. The Marseille player has been widely tipped as an amazing talent by many and seeing his age he can be a very bright future prospect for Chelsea. Having made 45 appearances for Marseille last season, Azpilicueta is no short of top flight experience and will make a valuable addition to this Chelsea side seeing the amount of games and trophies they will be fighting for next season. With not a very high transfer fee expected if this deal goes through it would be an absolute bargain.
