Canada and Chile face off at the Exploria Stadium in Orlando, Florida, on Saturday (June 29) in the final group game of 2024 Copa America. Les Rouges lost 2-0 to favourites Argentina in their opener last week.
Against Peru at the Children's Mercy Park in their next game, Canada were guilty of lacking inventiveness in the first half, as they managed just one shot. A red card to the Peruvians at the hour mark, though, saw Jesse March's side grow in confidence.
They were rewarded for their efforts minutes later, with Lille striker Jonathan David slotting home the winner to hand the Canucks a precious three points in their push for the knockouts.
Chile, meanwhile, recently appointed veteran head coach Ricardo Gareca but are yet to come alive under the Argentine in the Copa America. Following a goalless draw with Peru in their tournament opener, La Roja suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Argentina on Tuesday.
They fell to a late goal from Lautaro Martinez after being second-best for large swathes and must now win on Saturday to advance to the quarterfinals.
