Real Madrid’s new manager Carlo Ancelotti has revealed his eagerness to mentor Cristiano Ronaldo, even as rumors of Ronaldo’s transfer to Manchester United continue to make rounds.
While Ancelotti was officially unveiled to the Spanish press on Wednesday, speculation was mounting about Ronaldo’s come back to Old Tafford.
The Italian manager is hoping he can add one more name to the colorful list of prolific football superstars that he has worked with during his previous roles with Chelsea, Juventus, Milan and Paris Saint-Germain.
When asked about the forward, Ancelotti lavished him with adulation, holding him on par with Zinedine Zidane.
“My opinion is easy. Ronaldo’s a fantastic, marvellous player,” Ancelotti explained.
“It’s an honour to coach a player like Ronaldo like it was to coach Zidane.
“Ronaldo was not on the list of players like Brazilian Ronaldo, Zidane and Ronaldinho that I coached.”
“He will be on the list of players I coached now and I am so happy for that.”
However, he kept his lips sealed at the press conference when it came to talks about Ronaldo’s future at the club, with Ancelotti refusing to comment.
