Real Madrid coach, Carlo Ancelotti, has praised record signing Gareth Bale after the Welshmen scored on his debut against Villarreal.
“I think he’s happy to score his first goal for Real Madrid. He played in a difficult match and he played well, showing his good attitude. It was a hard match for everyone,” Ancelotti said.
Bale started on the right wing in the match and provided Madrid’s equalizer after Cani had given Villarreal the lead. Bale was eventually substituted after the hour mark because of the bruises in his knees.
Asier Illarramendi also made his debut in the game and Ancelotti expressed his happiness at the duo’s impact.
“They played well. Their performances were good. I didn’t play them for the full 90 minutes because in the first match it isn’t a good idea, so after an hour I took them off,” he said.
