Carlo Ancelotti reveals he kicked a box at Zlatan Ibrahimovic's head when he was PSG manager

Italian manager Carlo Ancelotti has admitted that he once kicked a box at Paris Saint-Germain forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic during his stint in charge at the Parc des Princes, according to Daily Mail. Ancelotti is currently unemployed but doing the rounds in the media as he looks to step back into the managerial job within the next twelve months.

The 56-year-old boasts an impressive CV, having won major honours with top clubs like AC Milan, Chelsea, AS Roma, Juventus and Real Madrid. Ancelotti is a man with a huge reputation in Europe and despite leading Los Blancos to their prestigious La Decima triumph, he was given the sack at the Santiago Bernabeu after failing to win a major trophy in the 2014/15 campaign, as arch-rivals Barcelona won the treble.

The Italian was a manager at Paris Saint-Germain before his move to the Spanish capital. And he has now revealed an incident that occurred after the French champions were knocked out of the Coupe de France at the quarter-final stage in April 2013. Out of sheer frustration and anger, Ancelotti accidentally kicked a box that ended up hitting Ibrahimovic’s head.

“They have said you have to use the whip. I say, ‘find another manager’. I never use the whip,” Ancelotti said in an interview.

“Not as a manager and not as a father. I have lost my temper, of course. At Paris Saint-Germain we once lost to Evian in the cup and I was so angry I kicked a box and it hit Ibrahimovic on the head.”

Luckily for Ancelotti, the Sweden international did not react angrily and the Italian even joked about it.

“It was more or less the same as [Alex] Ferguson and the boot with Beckham – but we laughed about it afterwards.

“I never used the whip because in my life nobody ever used the whip against me. Not my father, not my school teacher, not my manager. I don’t believe in it.”

Former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson once famously flung a boot in David Beckham’s direction, causing the ex-England captain to have stitches just above his left eye. The incident took place in the dressing room when the Red Devils were knocked out of the FA Cup at Old Trafford to rivals Arsenal.

The incident led to the decline of their relationship and Beckham’s imminent move to the Galacticos, where he helped the side win a La Liga title.
