According to The Secret Footballer, Cesc Fabregas had started a ‘mini-revolt’ against Jose Mourinho at Chelsea in order to alter his rigid approach towards the players and staff. However, Fabregas has hit back at the claims through a series of tweets from his official twitter account.
The Express reported yesterday that there was a mini-revolt against Mourinho at the club, led by the former Arsenal star. The Secret Footballer revealed in an interview that after club doctor Eva Carneiro, who eventually left the club, was ill-treated by Mourinho, the players have had a disharmonious relationship with the manager.
“Since that moment [Eva Carneiro], Mourinho’s ego has been hurt and has demanded that he reinstate the presence that he had before," the Secret Footballer explained.
“His ego is why he didn’t apologise when he most certainly should have. What has happened since has been the total and utter abandonment of Mourinho and his philosophy by the players.”
On the ‘mini-revolt’ matter the Secret Footballer added, “I’m told that Cesc Fabregas is the leader of that mini-revolt. And as a player, you do things like this when you know you are in the right.
“You try your luck. Why not? It’s your way of saying to the manager 'you can either listen to us, and give the go ahead to change and give us what we want, or we’ll keep serving you up the same old s**t and embarrass you.’”
Fabregas takes to Twitter to deny reports
However, Fabregas has clearly denied the reports through Twitter. The Spanish midfielder stated, “I would like to clarify that contrary to a few reports from some online websites, I am extremely happy at Chelsea and have an excellent relationship with the manager.
“There maybe certain individuals from the outside trying to destabilise the club but I strongly believe that we will bounce back and come good again.”
Here are the tweets from Cesc Fabregas’ official twitter account.
The defending champions currently lie in 15th place in the table, with only 11 points from as many matches.
