The result was easily the biggest shock of the opening round, with many fans predicting a comfortable victory for Manchester City, who have started the Premier League season strong.
It's unclear exactly what caused such a dismal display from City, who looked a shadow of their record-breaking Premier League side from last season.
Manager, Pep Guardiola spent the game in the stands, seeing out a touchline ban from last season's competition, and perhaps this was one of the reasons the team looked so uninspired.
