Christian Pulisic struggled to have an impact against Leicester City
The departure of Eden Hazard has opened up a vacuum at Chelsea and quite a few players are vying for the Belgian's position in the team. One of the players who was brought in to take over the mantle from Hazard is Christian Pulisic. Frank Lampard had allotted the American quite a bit of freedom in attack against Leicester City, however, Pulisic failed to grab the opportunity on the night.

During the opening stages of the game, the American was impressive as Lampard’s team implemented a high press that unsettled the away side. Pulisic even took up decent positions in the final third but was guilty of holding on to the ball for too long. As the game progressed, the American drifted away to the point where he was largely ineffective.
When Leicester City took the game to Chelsea, the home side tried to defend as a unit. This required every player to press and close down the opposition. Pulisic looked very uncomfortable without the ball and ultimately had to be replaced in the second half.

Inspired by Diego Maradona, Deepungsu played as an attacking midfielder for his local club at subdivision level in his initial years and scored an important goal or two. However, his all-time favorite footballer is Lionel Messi, and evidently, he feels Argentina's glory in 2022 is his favorite FIFA World Cup moment for fulfilling his long-standing dream. He is also an ardent East Bengal fan.

Unsurprisingly, his favorite manager is Sir Alex Ferguson and the Scotsman helped him get through some of the toughest days of his life. Despite believing in Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland to create an iconic rivalry, Deepungsu reckons no one can match the longevity of Messi and Ronaldo. He spends his leisure time writing about life on his blog, reading books, and playing the guitar.
