Hit: Edouard Mendy (Chelsea)
Edouard Mendy brought his A-game to the fore for Chelsea against Real Madrid, with his performance between the sticks playing a big part in ensuring that the Blues progressed to the showpiece event.
In what was a fairly balanced first half, Real Madrid, through Karim Benzema, fashioned two good chances that on another day might have ended in the back of the net.
However, the Chelsea goalkeeper proved up to the task and the full range of his reflexes were on display to deny the Frenchman on two occasions.
Had any of those two chances gone in, the game would have been a much different prospect for Chelsea, but the hosts had their goalkeeper to thank for a controlled display between the sticks.
Flop: Vinicius Junior (Real Madrid)
Like Eden Hazard on the opposite flank, Vinicius Junior did not offer too much in attack for Real Madrid and was constantly stifled by the resolute Chelsea defense.
The 20-year-old did not register a single shot or create a single chance in the game before he was substituted for Marco Asensio in the 63rd minute.
He, however, put in a shift for Real Madrid defensively, with three tackles made in the game, but those are hardly metrics that matter for an offensive player.
Hit: Mason Mount (Chelsea)
Mason Mount has put his critics to shame and is now one of the first names on the Chelsea team sheet under Thomas Tuchel.
The England international had another fine display against Real Madrid and despite coming up against stellar names like Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, Mount still went about his duties with minimal fuss.
He was the chief creative outlet for the hosts and created two chances in the game, while also recording three shots at goal.
The 22-year-old missed a golden opportunity when he blazed high from six yards out but made amends for that miss by being in the right place at the right time to score Chelsea's crucial second goal.
Before that goal, Real Madrid were still in the tie and an equalizer would have forced extra-time and swung the pendulum in favor of the visitors.
However, Mount made sure nothing of such happened with his ninth goal of the season.
