Anthony Martial's career has taken a hit since his debut season at Manchester United. The Frenchman's form dipped in the second season after he was involved in off-field controversies. There were questions raised about his temperament and attitude on and off the pitch.

Jose did give him a chance to prove himself last season but after an excellent start to the campaign, inconsistency crept in, and he found himself warming the bench. There were reports that he was considering a move away from Old Trafford.

Antony scored in the last game in a 3-2 comeback win against Newcastle United at Old Trafford, and here today he scored a brace to give United the lead after going down by the Rudiger goal in the first half. But that was not enough to give the Red Devils a victory as Barkley popped up late to score the equalizer for the host.
