Chelsea’s new kit for the 2014-2015 season sponsored by Samsung has been officially released. The club has also extended their deal with manufacturers Adidas till 2023. A campaign with the title “Forever Blue” shows five players sharing their moment in Chelsea history and how they want their time in the club to immortalised. Through a dramatic launch film, Petr Cech,Fernando Torres,Gary Cahill,Oscar and Eden Hazard have revisited and relived the defining moments in their Chelsea careers which have then been captured and cast into unique sculptures.
The main home jersey is blue keeping in tradition with the club’s long association with the colour. The new Chelsea home shirt is designed using engineered fabric showing contrasting blue tones on the front panel, including a two-tone striped design. The dynamic colour tone of the jersey makes it attractive and the video released by the club for the launch of its new kit makes it all the more interesting. The goalkeeper’s jersey is orange with a unique design of red on the chest and sleeves.
The shirt also includes the latest premium Adidas technologies such as the industry-leading breathable material - ClimaCool. The colour design 'True Blue' takes inspiration from club kits in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
For the away jersey Adidas turned back the pages to the glorious days of the past- with the likes of Peter Osgood in the 1960s and 1970s, through unforgettable moments with Clive Walker in the 1980s, Gianfranco Zola in the 1990s up to Frank Lampard's memorable winner in the FA Cup final of 2009-all donning the yellow colour for their club. The away kit is yellow in colour with the collar and stripes common to the home jersey. However they are adjusted to the colour blue to compliment the yellow jersey as well as the club’s logo on the chest.
The new shirt will be the lightest Chelsea away shirt ever produced, featuring the latest in adiZero lightweight technology and a polo collar which pays tribute to the retro designs, as well as an iconic blue stripe across the back which contrasts the two traditional Chelsea colours.
All the kits are available in the club’s official online store.
