EPL 2016/17: Chelsea 3-1 Arsenal, 5 Talking Points

Marcos Alonso opened the scoring for Chelsea at the Bridge

#4 Courtois denies Arsenal and N’Golo Kante destroys everything, yet again

The Belgian keeper made a few good saves

Thibaut Courtois had a great game for Chelsea. His save to deny Gabriel in the first half was a quality one, but in the 78th minute – although it was late in the game – he pulled off another brilliant stop. A ball from the right flank found Danny Welbeck who glanced a header that seemed destined to go in but Courtois lept across the goal to palm the ball away for a corner.

Mustafi would go close from the ensuing corner as well but Courtois watched as the ball was headed wide. That save was out of the top-draw and kept Arsenal at bay. While in midfield, N’Golo Kante was a constant bother for the Gunners.

He broke down moves and hustled Sanchez and Ozil particularly and did not let them play. As a result, Alexis Sanchez failed to have a shot or create a chance in the whole game.
