Arsenal
Wojciech Szczesny (-56): A day to forget for Szczesny, who was culpable for Oscar’s goal and conceded six.
Bacary Sagna (-24): Failed with all three of his attempted tackles.
Per Mertesacker (-14): Failed to make tackle or win a headed duel and made just one interception.
Laurent Koscielny (-18): Failed to make a tackle, interception or win a headed duel during his 45 minutes on the pitch.
Kieran Gibbs (-73): Wrongly dismissed, Gibbs was successful in ten of his 11 attempted passes.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (-5): Withdrawn at halftime, half an hour after he would have been had Andre Marriner sent off the wrong Arsenal man, ‘The Ox’ made four interceptions in the first half.
Mikel Arteta (11): Tidy on the ball with 61 successful passes at a success rate of 94%, but won just two of his six attempted tackles.
Tomas Rosicky (8): Won five tackles from six attempts and created four chances.
Santi Cazorla (19): Completed five take ons from eight attempts.
Lukas Podolski (-2): The man to make way in the aftermath of Gibbs’ red card, the German could be forgiven if he felt slightly relieved to have dodged the carnage that followed. Podolski completed nine of his ten attempted passes.
Olivier Giroud (8): As poor as many expected him to be, Giroud fluffed an early opportunity to give Arsenal the lead and failed to set up a chance, although he did win five of eight contested headed duels.
Substitutes:
Thomas Vermaelen (0): Made seven clearances and four interceptions.
Carl Jenkinson (-19): Finished the game with a pass accuracy of 76%.
Mathieu Flamini (21): Was fouled three times and completed 87% of his passes.
