Chelsea and Paris-Saint Germain have formally begun discussions over the transfer of Argentina winger Ezequiel Lavezzi.
The winger is currently with his country for the 2014 World Cup where Argentina have been draw into a group with Iran, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Nigeria.
He enjoyed a good season with PSG last season, helping them to a league and league cup double but despite the success the player would reportedly be open to switch to Stamford Bridge.
The fee is believed to be around £18 million and the player’s versatility is said to be a big appeal to Mourinho.
The two clubs have already done business this summer when the Blues sold defender David Luiz to the French side for £50 million and any such move for Lavezzi would be funded by the Brazilian central defender’s shock transfer.
Chelsea have already spent some of that money, though, by completing the transfer of Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona for £33 million.
