#3. Leeds United shot themselves in the foot
The visitors put up a strong fight against Chelsea and deserved to take something out of the game. But some reckless defending allowed the hosts to bag all three points. Leeds United gave away two silly penalties to gift the game to Chelsea.
Raphinha gave away the first penalty as he took out Antonio Rudiger with a sliding challenge. The second was a rather soft one. Mateusz Klich caught Rudiger in stoppage time to award Chelsea their second spot-kick of the night. Leeds could have had a point but some rash defending cost them the game.
#2. Jorginho was Chelsea's man of the hour
Jorginho scored a brace against Leeds United to secure all three points for the Blues. The UEFA Player of the year scored two goals from the spot to rescue Chelsea. The 29-year-old was cool as a cucumber as he dispatched Chelsea's winning goal of the night.
Jorginho played through back discomfort to help his side against Marcelo Biesla's tightly knit Leeds United. Apart from scoring, the Italian international won six duels, made three recoveries and intercepted the ball twice throughout the game.
#1. Chelsea keep the pressure on
Chelsea kept their title chances alive as they skimmed past a fiesty test. The pressure was mounting on Chelsea after both their title rivals won their respective games. Manchester City beat Wolves whereas Liverpool defeated Aston Villa.
With the win, Chelsea ensured they remained within touching distance of Manchester City and Liverpool, who are marginally ahead of them in the title race. The Cityzens are at the top of the table with 38 points. Jurgen Klopp's men trail them by a single point whereas Chelsea are third with 36 points after game-week 16.
