Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has said in an interview that he can’t afford to buy FC Barcelona forward Lionel Messi due to the Financial Fair Play rules(FFP) and also because the Catalan giants don't want to let go of the star striker.
There has been news that the 27-year-old Argentian was looking for a fresh challenge in his career and there were rumours of The Blues keen on bringing him to Stamford Bridge. Messi’s ex-teammate at the Nou Camp, Cesc Fabregas returned to the Premier League, earlier this year after being signed by Chelsea for a sum in the region of €33 million on a five-year contract deal and had said earlier that he would be delighted if Messi agreed to come to Chelsea.
Here’s the video of Mourinho talking about signing Messi.
