Chelsea’s dream hopes of a reunion with former striker Didier Drogba has been dashed after Juventus agreed a deal for the Ivory Coast hit-man, according to the Express.
Drogba has been heavily linked with a return to Chelsea this summer, with Chelsea interested happy to ease him into the coaching set-up while he plays for the Blues.
Drogba spent a memorable eight years at Stamford Bridge and scored 100 goals in 226 games during that period. His last goal for the club came in the Champions League final in 2012 when he equalised for the Blues, before he netted the winning penalty in the shoot-out to landed Chelsea’s first ever European Cup.
However, there will be no reunion for now as reports suggest that Drogba has agreed a two-year deal with Italian giants Juventus.
The Old Lady have been looking to bolster their front-line despite boasting the likes Llorente, Tevez and Vucinic in the striking department. Antonio Conte wants more goals in his side and he feels the presence of Drogba will lift the team and help the club going forward.
Drogba left the club in the summer of 2012 for China, before making a move to Galatasaray.
