Chelsea striker Diego Cost and Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson almost exchanged punches, after the Capital One Cup semi-final first leg between both the teams ended in a draw.
Henderson had to be separated by a member of the backroom staff on Tuesday. Furious arguments took place between the two, throughout the game and the situation manifested itself in the tunnel.
Henderson, who assisted Raheem Sterling to level it up at 1-1, clashed with Costa towards the end of the game. However, it isn’t clear why this fight took place. Costa was accused of standing on Martin Skrtel’s feet, during the game. Skrtel allegedly returned the favour, when he elbowed Costa in the face.
Brendan Rodgers seemed supremely confident, that Liverpool would go onto become the first team to win at Stamford Bridge this season. But, Jose Mourinho refused to comment on Chelsea’s form headed into the second leg.
Regardless, the Costa-Henderson bout has definitely given the clash another sub-plot to an already mouth-watering prospect
