Current Premier League leaders Chelsea are set to bid for Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke if reports from Spain are to be believed. The Blues join two other big clubs – defending Premier League champions Manchester City and La Liga giants FC Barcelona, to try and sign on the 22-year-old Spaniard.
Chelsea has already got two players from Atletico this season-Diego Costa and Filipe Luis and will now be looking to buy a third player from the club.During the weekend, it became known that City had held talks with the defending La Liga champions in a bid to bring Koke to the Etihad for a sum of £47 million.
Koke, who had rebuffed an offer from Manchester United in the summer, had earlier thanked those who were keen on signing him, but said he was happy to stay at Atletico.
"We must thank the interest of Barcelona and other teams, but I'm happy because I want to be here, I've been here all my life and it was not time to go.
"The club is growing, we are growing as players - why I would go at the best time of Atletico Madrid?," Koke said.
He has scored 3 goals in 16 appearances for Atletico this season, across all competitions.
