Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho confirms Juan Mata medical at Manchester United

Jose Mourinho at the pre-match press conference for Stoke City match, has just confirmed that Juan Mata has traveled to Manchester United for his medical. He further went on to say that sooner rather than later the transfer would be finalized, while also adding that Mata is a fantastic player, and despite not playing much for Chelsea, he still thinks that he would have been important for Chelsea.

Mourinho then said that the fee that they are set to receive for Mata is right for the quality of the player, and said that the move is good for both Mata and the Premier League.

He said: “We allowed Juan to travel and have a medical at Manchester United. Sooner rather than later things will be finalised.”

“He is a fantastic player. In spite of not playing much for us, I still think he could be important for us.”

“The offer we have received we feel is the right offer for the quality of player. “It’s a good move for Juan, it’s good for the Premier League, and the offer is the right offer. “

“He was fantastic for Chelsea, and Chelsea were fantastic for him. We were not prepared to replace Juan in the squad, so things [with Salah] moved very fast.’
