Chelsea linked with Shakhtar playmaker

The latest update from the Chelsea transfer mill is that Chelsea will need to increase their offer to purchase Shakhtar playmaker Willian.

The player, responsible for pretty much the success of his existing club, is currently valued at around £20m. After witnessing the bore draw at Carrow Road where none of the midfielders carved out any decent chances for Torres (more on that in a future post), AVB is keen to inject a creative spark to get the team firing on all cylinders. Torres included.

What’s the Mata? Since he arrived with a flourish, Juan Mata’s form has declined, possibly with the weight of expectation of helping Torres score, which hasn’t happened. It could also be because he needs a rest. Has AVB over played him? Malouda would certainly think so, although Malouda thinks he’s Maori with that haircut of his so lets not take the Frenchman too seriously.

This Chelsea Chief firmly believes we need more creativity in the middle of the park, and Willian’s transfer would only help Juan Mata be the player he can be. The Brazilian, at 22, would be an asset to the club for years to come, would represent a re-sale value if required, and follows the transfer policy of young Brazilians and other countries emerging talents joining Chelsea.

Come on Roman, empty your sock draw.
