After a brilliant few weeks in October Chelsea started November with a bump as Newcastle showed fight in the second half of our encounter at St James Park to overrun our midfield and chalk up a two goal victory.
Arsenal fans and the media are having a wet dream over the fact that they are now five points clear at the top of the table, however I am not that worried about Arsenal I feel they are three or four squad players short of competing, without these player their challenge should fizzle out by February.
However this good run for Wenger’s men has bought sharply into focus that it has been the month of November and not Christmas that has been our downfall in recent seasons. Although there is not much football in November this cannot be repeated.
This month in the league we only have two matches remaining both in London, one hosting West Brom and the other a trip to Upton Park to play West Ham.
The November rot tradition started under Carlo Ancelotti who had led us to the double the year before and looked unstoppable as we charged to the top of the Premier League table.
Unfortunately as the leaves changed so did our fortunes and we frefalled out of contention losing to Liverpool, Sunderland and Birmingham City in a run of five games that yielded just four points and set up an equally disappointing December.
A disappointing November would be repeated under AVB. Then between Robbie and the manager who shall not be named we further fell out of touch last November.
This year to challenge we really need 6 points, otherwise the pressure really will be on as we have 7 games in December in the Premier League alone.
