Oscar seems to have put the World Cup semi final embarassment behind him as he is all set to make a mark for Chelsea in the upcoming season. He began last season in a terrific fashion keeping Mata out of the team in the process, but finished it on a lower note before flying back to Brazil for the World Cup.
He was one of the late arrivals to the squad for the pre-season because of his involvement in the tournament, and because of that his manager Jose Mourinho had earlier expressed some concerns regarding their fitness. 'It worries me because the boys (returning late from the World Cup) that start tomorrow don't have time to get ready for the start of Premier League,” Mourinho said. So it remains to be seen if he uses them straightaway for the first game.
But Oscar did play a part in Chelsea’s final pre-season match last night at Stamford Bridge against Real Sociedad, and then after the game took to twitter to reveal how excited he is about this season’s premier league.
The players were given a warm welcome by the home supporters before the game began, and the biggest cheers of the night without a doubt were reserved for the returning club legend Didier Drogba. Chelsea begin their campaign on Monday away against newly promoted Burnley.
