Chelsea are in talks with Mexican outfit Pachuca as they negotiate a deal for star winger, Jurgen Damm.
The Mexico-born 21-year-old has been highly-sought after by a number of clubs and Chelsea are one of Damm’s keen suitors, according to Pachua’s vice-president Andres Fassi.
The tricky winger underwent a two-week trial in early 2013 when he was plying his trade with Estudiantes Tecos, but a move failed to materialise during Sir Alex Ferguson’s final season at the former reigning English champions.
Jurgen Damm holds a Mexican-German dual nationality so would not need a work permit to complete a move, which has opened the door for Chelsea to complete the move for the highly-rated individual.
Club president Fassi has admitted the Blues are in talks with Pachuca and a deal seems to be imminent for Damm to join the club in this summers transfer window.
Fassi told reporters: “Yes, there is interest but we have to see how much they are interested.
“In principle we have a sporting plan for Jurgen and we hope he stays, but if something comes up from abroad, we have to take it into account and if it’s serious, we have to respond, we will have news in the next 48 hours.
“Chelsea are the club interested, but we have to see how much they are interested, we can’t go ahead of ourselves, we have to wait and see.
“When it comes to us, it’s a matter of sporting project. We want him to stay and we will see how much Chelsea are interested.”
