Chelsea are monitoring Stephan Lichtsteiner’s situation at Juventus and could make a £6.5 million move for the defender this summer, according totalkSPORT.
The right-back, who picked up his third Serie A winners’ medal in Turin at the weekend, is about to enter the final year of his contract and is yet to agree a new deal with Juventus, despite his success.
Chelsea have apparently monitored him for the past few seasons and now could make a move this summer while he is cheap, due to his contract situation.
The Blues are keen to add the attacking full-back to their ranks and believe a fee of around £6.5m could be enough to secure his signature this summer. It is thought he would offer direct competition with Branislav Ivanovic on the right-hand side of defence while also allowing the Serbian defender to play in his more natural role at the centre of defence.
Arsenal and Manchester United have shown an interest in Lichtsteiner in the past and could rival Chelsea for his signature with Bacary Sagna set to leave the Emirates and Rafael under-performing at Old Trafford.
