Chelsea are willing to allow long serving goalkeeper Petr Cech to leave the club in order to allow Thibaut Courtois to establish himself at Stamford Bridge.
Goal are reporting that the club are going to encourage the Czech Republic captain to look for a new club as Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has told the club that he doesn’t want Courtois to go out on loan again.
The Belgian keeper has spent the past three seasons out on loan at Atletico Madrid and he has frequently spoken of his desire to play regular football. Courtois will be the number one for Belgium in the World Cup having already displaced Liverpool’s Simon Mignolet.
He has dropped hints in the past that if those wishes were not fulfilled he could be forced to leave the club. Anxious not lose such a talented young player Mourinho has told the club’s bosses that he believes that Courtois is ready for more regular football next season.
Cech will be told he can leave although it is still possible that he could stay at the club. The goalkeeper has been with Chelsea since joining from Rennes and has played over 450 appearances for the club. He has established himself as a popular figure both within the dressing room and with fans and he is now considered one of the best goalkeepers in the modern area.
In the past two seasons no goalkeeper has kept more clean sheets in La Liga than Thibaut Courtois.
