#4 - John Terry
The Chelsea captain for almost all the matches in the season, bar the finals. The legendary defender was sent off in the second leg of the semi-final against FC Barcelona for kneeing the back side of Alexis Sanchez.
Terry was in the stands witnessing history being made by his Chelsea teammate at the Alianza arena. The night for the defender is remembered for his infamous celebration in the full kit when the Blues were lifting the trophy.
The former England captain is still playing at Chelsea. He is no long a regular in the first team, but his love for the club sees him on the bench week in and week out. His contract expires at the end of the season, and it has been confirmed that he will be leaving the club in the summer.
#5 - Gary Cahill
Signed just four months before Champions League final, Gary Cahill played a crucial role in keeping out Mario Gomez and Thomas Mueller from scoring that night. The middle with David Luiz in the heart of the defence and ensured that the Blues did not leak out goals.
The English defender has since then gone on to establish himself in the Chelsea starting 11. In the last four years at Chelsea, he has played alongside John Terry, Kurt Zouma, and also David Luiz.
Now with John Terry leaving, he's set to be named as the club captain next season. He has been the captain of the club this season and has guided the team to the top of the league table.
#6 - Alex
Alex was not a part of the Chelsea squad when they lifted the trophy, but the defender played for them in the group stages. He was sold in January to Paris Saint-Germain by Andre Villas-BOAS.
He played 3 of the 6 group stage matches and was influential in getting the Blues to the knockout stage. However, he reportedly had a bust-up with the manager and was sent to the reserves in December before he was eventually sold.
Alex was at PSG for two years before moving to AC Milan and playing there for another two years. On 20th December 2016, Alex announced his retirement from football.
