#16 - Juan Mata
Juan Mata had just joined Chelsea at the start of the season from Valencia for a reported fee of £23.5 million. He was the player of the year straight when the season ended.
He played 12 games in the Champions League that season, missing just one game in the campaign. Mata took the corner that resulted in Didier Drogba's 88-minute equaliser. He missed the penalty for Chelsea in the shootout but thanks to the others scoring, it did not matter in the end.
Mourinho's return to Stamford Bridge ended his fairytale for the Blues. He was sold to Manchester United for £37 million in January 2014. He still plays for the Red Devils but surprisingly is being managed by none other than the man who threw him out of Chelsea, Jose Mourinho.
#17 - John Obi Mikel
Probably Chelsea's most loyal servant ever. Mikel was always available for the club when needed.
Mikel played in 12 games for the Blues in the Champions League. What is surprising is that he actually scored twice in the competition that season.
With just months left on his contract, he decided to leave the club for Chinese side Tianjin TEDA in January 2017. He is still not a regular for the club but is reportedly earning a whopping £245,000 a week!
#18 - Raul Meireles
He came, he won the Champions League, he left. Meireles spent just one season at Chelsea before moving to Fenerbahce.
Raul scored the winning goal against Benfica in the Last 8 of the Champions League. However, he picked up a yellow card in Chelsea's 2-2 draw at Barcelona in the semi-final and was suspended for the finals.
He is currently a free agent after leaving the Turkish side after the end of the 2015/16 season.
