#2 Tottenham 1 vs Chelsea 2 ( Premier League 20.08.2017)
This was Chelsea's second game of the 2017/18 Premier League season after they had suffered a shock 3-2 defeat by the hands of Burnley in the opener. The team was already without the services of Hazard; and to pile more misery on the Blues, Cesc Fabregas and Cahill were suspended from participation.
Chelsea needed a good performance on the day, but in Tottenham, they faced a tough opponent. This did not discourage the Blues, though, as they tried to frustrate spurs by hitting on the counter.
Marcos Alonso's free-kick opened the scoring for Chelsea in the 24th minute of the game. However, late in the game, Michy Batshuayi scored an own goal to help Tottenham equalize.
Alonso came to Chelsea's rescue again, though, as his shot beat Hugo Lloris to notch up Chelsea's winning goal.
The match showed the team's strength in character: despite not playing with star players like Hazard and Fabregas, they managed to find a way out of the foxhole and that too, against an opposition like Tottenham.
