Antonio Valencia leaves Manchester United
After 13 years of professional football in England, Antonio Valencia has finally called time on his European sojourn and headed back home.
The 33-year-old signed for Wigan Athletic in 2006 but went on to global popularity after arriving Manchester United in 2009 and represented the English giants for the next decade, making 339 appearances in all competitions and winning nine major honors.
The Ecuadorian international has been the consummate professional through his time at Old Trafford and was made skipper of the team following Wayne Rooney's departure but a combination of factors including age and injury problems reduced his contributions in recent years.
It has been confirmed that he would now represent Ecuadorian champions LDU Quito from next season after being released by Manchester United at the expiration of his contract.
Arsenal make opening bid for Saliba
William Saliba is an 18-year-old central defender who stars for St Etienne in the French Ligue 1.
He made his professional debut last season, making 16 league appearances and Unai Emery was seemingly convinced enough by him and has identified him as a transfer target.
According to the Mirror, Arsenal have made a £22.5m bid for Saliba although unconfirmed reports suggest it was turned down and that Tottenham are ready to beat their North London rivals to his signature.
Aaron Wan Bissaka move almost fell through at the last minute
It is all but certain that Aaron Wan Bissaka would be unveiled in the coming days having completed a medical ahead of his £50m transfer to Manchester United.
However new reports by BBC reporter David Ornstein indicate that the deal was very close to falling through at the last minute after Crystal Palace and Manchester United could not agree on a late request by Palace concerning a sell-on clause.
It was finally settled that Palace would get 10% of any sale of Wan Bissaka in excess of the £50m paid to get him and the England Under 21 international is set to be unveiled in the coming days.
