English giants Chelsea have agreed an official sponsorship deal with Swiss watchmakers Rotary. The deal will see Rotary as the club’s official timekeeper for the next four-years. Along with this the company will gain prominent branding around Chelsea’s home ground.
Additionally Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard will serve as an ambassador for the brand. Meanwhile Rotary, who are the first watch brand to sign a deal with Chelsea will launch two special edition Chelsea-themed watches.
“This is an extremely exciting sponsorship for Rotary and one that we are very proud of,” said Victoria Campbell, Rotary’s chief executive.
“Like us, Chelsea enjoys a long standing heritage and operates on the world stage. Our partnership represents a mutually beneficial strategic alliance given that we share many common values. We are committed to growing our brand awareness overseas particularly in South East Asia and Chelsea was our first choice given that their fan base in the region is huge,” she added.
Chelsea chief executive Ron Gourlay said that the company is a perfect fit for the club.
“We have never partnered with a watch company until now but believe Rotary are a perfect fit as we share a similar outlook and goals,” he said.
