What's the story?
Having seen everyone around them starting the January transfer window with a bang, Chelsea, and Roman Abramovich are feeling a little left out... sure they got Ross Barkley but that was something they had been planning to do for quite a while and the money was nothing to write home about (a superb thing that, in the world of inflated transfers it took Chelsea to bring some sanity into the proceedings... ah, the irony).
So, they want to redress all that and, as per the good folk over at the Bild, shell out £38 million of the good stuff and bring Thorgan Hazard across the continent from his exile at Borussia Monchengladbach.
In case you didn't know
Thorgan, younger brother to Eden, was at Chelsea from 2012 to 2015 but was amongst a host of youngsters allowed to leave the Blues around that time period. After going through the routine of loan after loan, he got a permanent deal at Borussia Monchengladbach for whom he's been the undoubted star in the attack in recent times.
The heart of the matter
Thorgan Hazard has come on immensely since his first stint at the Blues and the attacking-midfielder who's most comfortable on the wings is being wooed by elite clubs across Europe.

Not nearly as talented as Eden - so very few are - Thorgan is still quite the player. For those Chelsea fans who haven't seen him since his departure...
Would be a solid addition to the squad wouldn't he?
Author's Take
The move to bring in Thorgan Hazard has two-fold benefits
a) It improves the squad and provides them an additional threat - as they showed against Norwich City in the FA Cup if Eden doesn't play they can be predictable and a touch one-dimensional. Thorgan's involvement could help spruce things up.
b) Signing on Thorgan would also be a solid message to Eden that he is loved at the club and that they would go to any extent to keep their Belgian superstar.
