If reports are to be believed then Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson could well be on his way to Stamford Bridge next season.
The 24-year-old whose contract with the club expires at the end of next season, has reportedly refused to sign a fresh contract worth £80,000 a week and according to the Star, “more talks are planned, but Chelsea are monitoring the situation closely.”
Hendeson is now the second player, after countryman Raheem Sterling, who does not seem very keen on extending his stay at Anfield.
Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech could find himself making a shock move to Southampton on loan. The 32-year-old has had made just 14 appearances this season as compared to Thibaut Courtois’s 33 and with the Saints goalkeeper Fraser Forster severely injured and likely to be out for a considerable amount of time, Ronald Koeman’s side will definitely need a replacement for him. It is also understood that the Dutchman is looking to bring him on board for a month.
Southampton will also look to make one final attempt at keeping Nathaniel Clyne at the St. Mary’s Stadium by offering the defender a fresh contract. Like Henderson, he too is reported to have not agreed to sign on to a deal that would him see him earn £45,000 a week.
United seem to be ahead in the race as far as acquiring Chelsea target Sami Khedira is concerned and the rumoured transfer could see earn a sum of £200,000 per week.
