Samuel Eto’o has hit back at Jose Mourinho labelling the Portuguese a “fool” as he said he will continue his career in Europe.
With Eto’o’s contract at Chelsea due to expire and unlikely to be renewed, he has fired parting shots towards his manager.
After touching down in the Ivory Coast for the Copa Coca Cola youth tournament Eto’o stopped to talk to some reporters and was asked questions about what the future held for him.
“Some believe I am going to retire in the United States or in the Middle East, but I have regained the joy of the Champions League and I am going to carry on playing in the Champions League.
“Where? I am not going to tell you. But I am going to carry on playing because physically and mentally I feel great.”
Most believed Eto’o would move to Asia or America to see out his career but the Cameroon captain declared that he would go on to continue playing international football until he was 42, hinting towards the great Roger Milla.
“So I am going to go to this World Cup and to the next one when I will be 37. Some did it at 42, so I can still play in two more World Cups.”
Eto’o was reportedly one of the players who came under fire from Mourinho at half-time during the Blues’ last home game, a 0-0 draw with Norwich.
He also was the subject of some jibes from Mourinho about his age earlier in the season although it had been believed that he had taken these comments well.
