Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez has paid tribute to Sir Alex Ferguson, saying it has been a blessing to having been managed by Sir Alex Ferguson.
The 71-year-old Scot will be retiring at the end of this season after being in-charge of the club for more than 26 years.
The 24-year-old Mexican, who joined United in 2010, has said that he is extremely proud to have worked with a manager of such stature.
Chicharito told TV Azteca, “When I retire it will be satisfying to say that I was one of Sir Alex Ferguson’s boys. But it’s more than an anecdote for me. I see it as an achievement and a blessing. It’s a source of pride to say I was with one of the best coaches in history. Something that impresses me is that he never lost his competitiveness. In spite of everything he won he continues to be hungry. He’s a winner.”
The Reds’ boss has two more games to his name, which include Sunday’s game against Swansea City, which will be his final game at home, and the final match of the season at West Brom, which is scheduled for Sunday, 19 May.
