Chile brings practice session to a halt after witnessing a Brazilian news helicopter flying overhead

Chile Manager Jorge Sampaoli attending a press conference

Chile Manager, Jorge Sampaoli had to temporarily suspend his practice session after witnessing a Brazilian news channel helicopter flying overhead.

Sampaoli got worried as he felt that his teams tactics and strategies could get uncurtained as Chile meets Brazil in the Round of 16 on 28th June, 2014.

The team’s communications director, Hector Olave requested News Channel Globo not to release any images of their practice session while the news channel apologised for the incident.

“because he was working on tactics and he didn’t want them to know how he plans to approach the match,” said Olave when inquired about why Sampaoli was worried.

As the chopper flew overhead, the Chilean players tried to make a light of the situation by trying to hit the chopper with their footballing shots.

“We tried to hit it with the ball, but we couldn’t,” said defender Mauricio Isla.

Sampaoli’s approach though has amused some of the Brazilian legends of yesteryears including Ronaldo who felt that Chile is more worried than the Brazilians.

“they are infinitely more concerned than we Brazilians,” Ronaldo said.

Chile has surprised everybody after they opened their campaign with a victory over Australia and went on to defeat Spain in their next game. It is no secret that Chile had Brazilian manager Luiz Felipe Scholari worried as he considers them to be the giant-killers and made it vocal that he wouldn’t like Brazil to face them or best wouldn't even like Chile to qualify for the next round.

The Round of 16 match between Brazil and Chile will be a knock-out as the winner would advance to the quarter-finals and would face either Colombia or Uruguay.
