Chile's Mauricio Pinilla gets tattoo of last second shot against Brazil that hit the crossbar

Ed Ran

Chile’s Mauricio Pinilla hits the crossbar against Brazil in the dying seconds of Extra Time. Chile would have won had it gone in.

Most Chile fans and players would want to forget their World Cup Round of 16 exit at the hands of Brazil.

Not Mauricio Pinilla though.

Remember him? The striker who hit the crossbar in the dying minutes of the game to almost win it for Chile?

Well, he wants to remember that shot for life. And to prove it, he has gone and got himself a tattoo of that shot on his back.

Here’s a picture of Pinilla getting the tattoo done. Next to the graphic are the words “One centimetre from glory”.

That’s literally how close Chile came to eliminating hosts Brazil and qualifying for the quarter-final.
