5 – Robinho
Robson de Souza, more often referred to as Robinho, had spells at Santos, Real Madrid, Manchester City and AC Milan before he made the move to China to play for Guangzhou Evergrande. He was tipped for greatness at just 15 years old, when Brazil’s legend Pele picked the boy out as his successor. Unfortunately, as we all know, he wouldn’t quite reach the lofty expectations many had of him.
After his third spell at Santos in 2015 came to an end, the Brazilian was without a club. In July of that year, Guangzhou Evergrande announced that they had officially signed Robinho as a free agent. His contract would last only six months, but the 32-year-old won the Chinese Super League that season, making 10 appearances and scoring 3 goals for the club before the expiration of his contract. In February of 2016 Robinho signed a two-year deal with Brazilian side Atletico Mineiro, where he is currently playing.
