Former Germany international Christoph Metzelder and Tatjana Haenni, Head of Women’s Competitions, FIFA, will open the 19th SPONSORs Business Summit (SpoBiS) with their presentations at the CCD Congress Center in Dusseldorf, Germany on Monday.
Metzelder will attend Europe's leading sports business conference in his position as a Founding Director of Jung von Matt/sports. The former Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund star will address the SpoBiS 2015 attendees on Monday morning with a presentation named "Successful sponsorship: Changing market requirements and the concepts proving a success".
FIFA's Tatjana Haenni will highlight the importance of Women's football and the upcoming 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup in Canada with her presentation "To a greater goal: How the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup should foster growth" scheduled to take place simultaneously to Metzelder's presentation.
Other highlights of the day will see Real Madrid's former Digital Business Manager Oscar Ugaz talking about "Digital Business & Sports", Stefan Mennerich (Director of Media Rights and New Media, FC Bayern Munich) on the transformation "From club to media enterprise" and panel discussions on topics such as "Does sport need brands – do brands need sport?" and "The economic and social significance of professional sports".
The two-day event has established itself as one of Europe's leading sports business conference with stakeholders from all sectors in attendance. More than 100 speakers will audience leading decision-makers from sports business.
Wolfgang Niersbach (President, DFB), Hans-Joachim Watzke (Managing Director, Borussia Dortmund), Stephan Grühsem (General Representative, Volkswagen) and Dr. Jens Thiemer (Vice President Marketing Communications, Mercedes-Benz) will be just a few of the top names expected to attend the SpoBis 2015. The event will also have an Indian football angle with Arunava Chaudhuri (Arunava about Football) and Chris Punnakkattu Daniel (CPD Football) in attendance.
Representatives from major football clubs like FC Bayern Munich, Bayer 04 Leverkusen and FC Schalke 04 will be also present at the SpoBiS 2015, besides leagues and federations such as FIFA, Bundesliga, International Premier Tennis League (IPTL) and the NBA.
There will be also a strong presence from the corporate world with major brands such as adidas, Allianz, Audi, Castrol, Coca-Cola, Red Bull and SAP giving their views on their experience in the sports business.
