Club America and Tigres go head-to-head at the Dignity Health Sports Park Stadium in the Supercopa de la Liga MX final on Sunday. Andre Jardine’s men head into the game unbeaten in 14 clashes against Tigres.
America enjoyed a solid first half of the season, as they finished first in the Liga MX Clausura table with 35 points from 17 games.
Jardine’s men picked up 10 wins and five draws in the league, only suffering defeats to Pachuca and Pumas UNA, with both losses coming away from home.
America went on to clinch the Clausura playoff title as they stormed to the final before claiming a 2-1 aggregate victory over Cruz Azul.
Tigres, meanwhile, secured a fifth-placed finish in the Clausura after picking up 31 points in 17 games in the first half of the campaign.
However, Robert Siboldi’s side were dumped out of the playoffs in the quarterfinals, courtesy of a 3-2 aggregate loss to Monterrey.
Next up for Tigres is the stern challenge of taking on an opposing side who they have failed to get the better of in their last 14 encounters since 2019.
