Colombian international footballer, Mauricio Molina, who plays for FC Seoul, had a near death experience when in an attempt to meet a cross his head collided with goalkeeper’s fist and opponent defender’s head about two minutes into the match.
He was knocked out cold in the opponent’s half. However, some quick and smart thinking from his teammates, who noticed that he was swallowing his tongue and reached for his mouth and cleared his airway, saved his life.
This action was taken immediately after the collision and instead of panicking his team held their own and prevented what could have been a dark day in the history of football.
This set of moves performed by these players was a very basic move which can help preventing any mishaps on the football field. All the players should be guided to proceed with such aids in case of emergency rather than panicking at the spot.
Molina recovered in a miraculous manner and was able to walk off the field on his own feet, before he was taken to the hospital where he underwent a series of tests.
To make the matters more dramatic, his wife was in the stands while this incident took place on the field. Later on, however, Molina tweeted that he ‘feels fine’. Later on, he also posted a picture on Instagram, thanking his wife and kids for the support and for being the ‘source of his power’.
