Simon Brodkin, an English comedian who is best known for portraying a character called Lee Nelson and Jason Bent, a bland and dumb Premier League footballer with a Merseyside accent was almost successful in boarding the plane that was carrying all the England National team players who were travelling to Miami for their FIFA World Cup prepartions.
Brodkin was dressed in an identical suit and tie so as to match the ones worn by the England players, and mingled with the players between the bus and their Miami-bound plane at Luton airport, according to the Guardian.
However, it wasn’t long as the security officials at the Luton Airport were quick to catch Brodkin in action.
Brodkin had previously gotten into trouble for pulling a stunt like this after he had disguised himself to be a Manchester City player, taking part in their usual routine. He was later arrested with charges related to pitch encroachment contrary to the Football (Offences) Act 1991.
