Comoros and Madagascar lock horns at the Grand Stade d'Al Hoceima in neutral Morocco on Monday for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. With nine points from five games, Comoros have already sealed their place at next year's showpiece. They are currently second in Group A and cannot be caught.

Their qualification was confirmed with a slender 2-1 win over Gambia on Thursday. Myziane Maolida struck the winner for them in the 90th minute after Rafiki Said had canceled out Alasanna Jatta's opener for the Scorpions in the first half.

Ranked 108th in the world, Les Coelacantes are set to make their second appearance in the AFCON finals. They made their tournament debut in the 2021 edition, reaching the last 16 against all the odds.

As for Madagascar, the island side are winless in their campaign heading into the final day of the qualifiers. With two draws and three losses, the Barea are rock-bottom in their group with two points. Their hopes of playing at the AFCON for a second time are over following a forgetful run.

Romuald Rakotondrabe's side's only decent results came against Comoros and Gambia in a pair of 1-1 draws on matchday two and three. On both occasions, Madagascar had gone in front in the first half, only to end up conceding later on.
