Confirmed: Hull agree fee to sign Tottenham midfielder Jake Livermore

Jake Livermore will return to Hull after spending last season on loan at the KC Stadium

Steve Bruce is ready to break Hull City’s transfer record to bring Tottenham midfielder Jake Livermore into the club permanently following a successful loan spell last season.

The club confirmed a fee had been agreed with Spurs with personal terms being thrashed at over the weekend.

An announcement is expected early next week when the move becomes official.

The FA Cup finalists are apparently willing to pay a fee in the region of £6.5 million for the England-capped midfielder, despite Hull previously baulking at Livermore’s valuation, which would be a record transfer for the Humberside club.

Spurs will let the midfielder depart, and despite significant interest from both QPR and Crystal Palace, Hull are in pole position to bring Livermore back to the KC Stadium next season.

According to reports, Hull also hope to sign former Leeds United winger Robert Snodgrass, who has impressed since joining Norwich City in 2012.

Norwich want £6.5 million for the Scot, which would represent a significant profit on the fee they paid.
