Copa del Rey 2011-12: Last 32 draw announced

The 2011-12 draw for the last 32 teams in the Copa del Rey, also known as the Spanish Cup or the King’s Cup, was conducted and line-ups were arrived at. Here is how it has all panned out.

Teams from the La Liga join the tournament at this stage and there are some interesting match-ups of the David vs Goliath mould. Take the examples of L´Hospitalet vs. Barcelona ( city Derby) and Ponferradina vs. Real Madrid as examples, which apart from the difference in “size” between the clubs, will see the lower team have a chance to earn some big money with tickets sales and TV rights cash flows.
