Spanish football club Valencia secured a spot in the Copa del Rey semi-finals after earning a 2-1 aggregate win over Las Palmas.
Valencia won the second leg match here on Thursday 1-0. They were held to a 1-1 draw in the first leg at their home ground.
Valencia, who have struggled in La Liga this season and looked unimpressive in the first leg, seemed to rise up to the occasion on Thursday, dominating play.
Valencia striker Alvaro Negredo got the first serious chance in the 12th minute, but his shot landed in the side netting.
Las Palmas were uncharacteristically disjointed on offence and looked as if they would have to rely on set pieces to generate opportunities.
The home side's sloppiness on the ball cost them dearly in the 20th minute, when Andre Gomes exploited a giveaway by Culio to make a rush down the left side and send a cross into the area for a waiting Rodrigo, who made it 1-0.
The visitors could have sealed the outcome before the half-time break, but Negredo and Shkodran Mustafi failed to convert on a pair of solid chances.
