Alexandre Pato will return to Corinthians in July if Chelsea do not exercise their option to buy the striker, the Brazilian football club has confirmed. Pato was forced to wait more than two months to appear for the London club, whom he joined on a six-month loan in January, reports Xinhua.
He scored a goal on debut against Aston Villa on April 2 and made his first start for the Blues in their 0-1 loss to Swansea on Saturday.
"They (Chelsea) have the option to buy him so we will wait and see what happens," Corinthians president Roberto de Andrade said.
"Pato is contracted to us and that has to be honoured. If Chelsea decide not to take him, Corinthians will make use of him." Corinthians hold 60 percent of Pato's economic rights with the remainder held by the player.
